Daily Mail Journalist Caught Lying To Support Piers Morgan’s War With Meghan Markle

By Ashley Young-

A Daily Mail Journalist has been caught lying to support Piers Morgan in his war against Meghan Markle.

Jan Moir did the very thing journalists are often criticised for- misrepresenting the truth-, and did so in a harmful way by endorsing Piers Morgan’s actions which cost him his job at Good Morning Britain.

In an article for the Mail entitled ”if Meghan thinks she has won the war with me, she is in for a big shock” went on to almost worship Piers Morgan for his financial worth, but then went badly wrong by lying, which is worse than misrepresenting the facts.

She states: Morgan’s six-year reign at GMB in which he single-handedly turned a moribund breakfast show into a ratings smash, ended after he declared his disbelief that the Duchess of Sussex had told the entire truth during her infamous televised interview with Oprah Winfrey”.

The facts are quite different from what Ms Moir claims.  Piers Morgan did not express disbelief that the Duchess of Sussex had told the entire truth during her infamous televised interview with Oprah Winfrey. What Piers clearly said ”I don’t believe a word she said”, which is quite different for what Ms Moir said.

It has to be concluded that Ms Moir chose her words carefully, and deliberately falsified the facts- which is dishonest! She did that to support Piers Morgan, exposing herself in the process.

Her article will add to a number of others carefully being analysed by several experts over time to conclude the motives of many journalists or commentators expressing their views over the hot royal feud.

The experienced journalist, who once wrote for The Guardian,  goes on to support Piers Morgan’s actions which cost him his job, by so doing undermining the judgement of ITV bosses in calling for Piers Morgan to apologise.

She states: ”He specifically did not believe the Duchess’s claims that on two occasions she told senior royal aides she felt suicidal and needed professional assistance, but that they did nothing to help.

This declaration, surely a reasonable one by any standards of journalistic rigour, set in motion a chain of events which in hindsight seems completely farcical”.

Ms Moir here states that Piers Morgan was reasonable to express total disbelief that Meghan Markle told senior royals she felt suicidal and needed professional help, even though he was never present at the time.Piers Morgan leaves Good Morning Britain amid row over Harry and Meghan comments | Ents & Arts News | Sky News

The article posted late on Friday is to be the subject of further assessment, in terms of any wider implications, and appears to have fallen short of journalistic standards, showing just how low journalists can go to push their agenda.

In the same week Martin Bashir was exposed for fake bank statements, we have a Daily Mail journalists faking the facts just to please another journalist because of his status and financial worth. The Bashir situation is far more serious than the article  under discussion in the Daily Mail, but the common factor is unacceptable deception.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to go public in their fight with the royal family has not been a pleasant sight for the British public.  But it  has been an expression of the couple’s anger with a press they condemn as ruthless and dishonest, as is evident right here for all to see.

Criticising the flaws of Prince Harry and his wife is the duty of the press. Like all humans, the couple have flaws, but how fairly those flaws are measured becomes a problem  if the press cannot be trusted to tell the truth.
