A CPS spokesperson said: ”The CPS has authorised for Kevin Spacey to be charged, but we can’t say when exactly he will be arrested for the formal charges to be made. He may need to be extradited to the Uk, or he may voluntary return to face the charges..

Neither the CPS nor the Met Police was able to immediately explain why the authorisation for the charges have just been made following a review, how long the review has been going on, or what sparked the review. The CPS has promised to look into it
Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said in a stement: “The CPS has authorised criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men.
“He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
“The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Spacey are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.”
The charge comes after an investigation was launched by the Met Police in 2017 over allegations which dated back to as far as 1996.
He was quizzed by officers after a number of allegations were made against him between 1996 and 2013, but was not arrested.
After so many years of no action, the news will come as a shock to the star, but as good news to his alleged victims.
