Covid-19 Deaths Exaggerations Were Source Of None Compliance With Restrictions By Many Londoners

By Ashley Young And Sheila Mckenzie-

Covid-19 exaggerations  in the Uk this year has been the source of none compliance of lockdown restrictions in many neighbourhoods, The Eye Of Media can reveal.

Research conducted  in North  West London  and East London revealed marked attitudes towards lockdowns rooted in  past exaggerations of Covid-19 deaths. 98 out of 171(57.30%) of people spoken to in Harlesden, North West London, between Dec 12th and December 22  said they had not observing social distancing at all because they do not believe the reality of Covid-19.

In East London, 78 out of 157(49.68%) people. expressed similar sentiments, stating they did were cynical about Covid-19, and did not observe social distancing indoors when mixing with friends. Most of those spoken to were between the ages of 19 and 35.

Most of those who said the observed the rules were over 30 years of age, but there was a small percentage of those spoken to over 30 who admitted to not keeping to social distancing, because they believed the covid-19 deaths had been exaggerated before, and are  likely still being exaggerated.

The reasons they provided was the fact Covid-19 was put on the death certificate of several people who died of another disease. Many of them mentioned incidences of people whom they believe died of something else, but had Covid- 19 put on their death certificate.

Error

The British government admitted in June that there had been some error in the way the numbers were recorded, and reviewed the numbers by marking the statistics down to 28days of a Covid-19 test.

The admission  last June  said that people could have died of a motor crash months after failing a Covid-19 test and have Covid-19 on the death certificate. It reviewed the numbers by marking the statistics down to 28days of a Covid-19 test.

However, large concerns surrounding doubts about the true number of deaths has led a large section of people to question the integrity of the numbers. Similar sentiments were made when residents of Queen’s Park and Kilburn were asked about their reactions to the lockdown.

46% of those surveyed in North West London and East London admitted either forming their own gatherings during lockdown for low key get togethers, or mixing with other households during lockdown where little regard for social distancing was made.

The other 45% said they had abided by social distancing rules during the lockdown most of the time, but not all of the time. Some of those who admitted breaking the rules some of the time said it became too frustrating to stick to the restrictions all the time, and they felt were sceptical of the statistics of Covid-19 death certificates, but were also worried of taking chances too many times, especially for those with children and elderly parents.

Integrity

Many of those recklessly  ignoring the restrictions expressed distrust in the integrity if the collation of the numbers with Covid-19 on their death certificate.

Just over 25% of those who admitted breaking the rules of social distancing and general restrictions, also said they had been  around either children or elderly people, but not being concerned.  Most of those who said they did not observe the lockdown were young people between the ages of 24 and 31.

”Why should there be cases of people having Covid-19 on their death certificates if they did not actually die of Covid-19, Sharon Pilson from Queens Park said: ” how will people trust statistics that has been contaminated, especially when rules seem to change as suddenly as the weather, Many people have doubts about this COVID-19 , with the way the rules are changed all the time ”

Another resident, Natasha, 25,  from Queen’s Park said the integrity of the Covid-19 deaths was in question. The way this government has have moved the rules back and forth has been frustrating. How could this new strain just suddenly arrive and cause guidance set for Christmas to change at the last minute?

U Turn

U turns in policy guidelines were also found to have contributed to wide distrust in the credibility of the statistics associated with covid-19 deaths. The latest U turn occurred after Uk prime minister Boris Johnson had permitted families to mix with two households. There were several calls for him to withdraw the relaxation for Christmas. Mr. Johnson at the time refused to reverse his announcement for a relaxed Christmas.

It was only a matter of days before the Christmas arrangements to be changed again due to news of the new strain of the virus mutating.

That reversal of the rule continued a pattern of sudden change of rules. The discovery of a new strain of virus would definitely have provided a good reason for government to adjust its policies to prevent the spread of the new strain.

Sceptics are less convinced and doubt the reality of Covid-19 based on the mixed and confusing messages arising from the rules. Covid-19 is definitely real, but the reports of exaggeration in numbers may call for an inquiry as to how and why it happened, if those who have lost trust in the government are to be convinced of the importance of the rules.

Research

This publication not long ago began conducting research about Covid-19 patients in the Uk, by talking to doctors and speaking with some of those who recovered from Covid-19 during he first and second wave in the Uk.  This is for the purposes of  obtaining as much first hand information which is thoroughly analysed. Our research is still in its infant stages, and requires more in depth interviews with families of Covid-19 victims , doctors, and hospital chiefs.

There are people  have suffered from Covid-19 who had no underlying issues, but very few who died without any history of disease. There is still a lot more research to be done.

The challenge is in establishing the reason many deaths that had Covid-19 mentioned on it occurred if the patient actually died of something else.

The explanation given by the authorities is that the Covid-19 was believed to have triggered the death of those patients who  had underlying issues, but died long after testing positive for covid-19.

Several affected families have not bought the idea, but very few are willing to come out and identify with their claim. ”It’s a private and family situation. Not many families want their personal tragedy out in the media”, one woman of 32 said about the aunty whom she insists died of cancer but had cancer written on the death certificate.

Sydney Petersfield 31 said: ”I don’t believe any of it, Why would they lie about numbers and then expect everybody to bow for rules that change colours any time? I find it difficult to believe there is a new strain”, I think the government is just trying to control us”.

Another lady, Mischelle Adams, 24, said: ”there is definitely a virus out there, no doubt. The problem is that when you hear of cases where a patient who the family died of asthma say they had Covid-19 put on the death certificate, it makes you wonder what on earth is going on. I think we all have to be careful, but there is a lot of doubt and suspicion in many London communities, even the high numbers of death registered from London”.

It is clear that more needs to be done to earn public trust in government guidelines. in order to receive the most needed co-operation to battle the deadly virus.
