The British public will be weary of passengers coming back from China and eight other Asian states, following advice from the Department of Health has been issued for those returning from those states to avoid contact with the public.
The advice has been published for those coming back from China, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Macau. It follows news that a third person in the UK who has tested positive for coronavirus contracted it in Singapore is being treated in St Thomas hospital in London.
A notice from public health bosses said: “If you have returned to the UK from any of these areas in the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough or fever or shortness of breath, you should immediately “Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu, call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country.
Some members of the public will be concerned that some passengers from those country may not take the necessary step to stay safe and put the public safe. Charlene Matthews , 31 from Hamshire told The Eye Of Media.Com:
”This is worrying because people coming from those countries may easily mix with the public, especially if they don’t realise they have the symptoms. Some may even suspect they have the symptoms and still take the risk. I am worried the disease may spread”.
Another lady, 24 year old Ellie Samuels from London said: ” If we have to worry about people coming from eight different countries, it means we are trusting them to to be responsible enough to check whether they have already contracted the disease. It is worrying because people cannot always be trusted to behave responsibly.
