A new appeal has been launched to find the killer of a teenager who was shot dead in an East London car park in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity. David Adegbite was just 18 years old when he was killed in Barking back in 2017, with police never able to find his murderers.
David had been visiting friends on Sunday, March 19, 2017 when he was shot in a car park in the St Ann’s estate off Gascoigne Road in Barking.
Emergency services, including local police, firearms officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service all rushed to the scene at 7.10pm that evening where they found him with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital but died at 10.25pm.
Alexa Loukas, London Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, said: “There remain crucial questions over this appalling murder, which is why we are supporting the police to help find who was responsible for this young man’s killing.
“An innocent victim, his family and friends along with the wider community need to see justice happen. Contact our charity completely anonymously by calling 0800 555 111, or fill in our simple and secure anonymous online form. Our charity supports people to speak up when they would otherwise stay silent. Now is your chance to do the right thing for David.”
In a statement, David’s family said: “Our son David left a vacuum in our heart and home since he departed from this world. We want to appeal to anyone who has information about the people responsible for his death to come forward.
Gun violence in London has fallen in sine October, with cops mystified as to the sudden drop in shootings. Organized gangs have been having difficulty in sourcing and moving guns around in the capital.
