CONTROLLING AND ABUSIVE ESSEX MAN GETS JUST 7 YEARS FOR KILLING GIRLFRIEND

BY LUCY CAULKETT

A ‘controlling and abusive’ boyfriend who beat his partner to death the day after she took him back has been jailed for  7 years a t the Old Bailey   Abu Hussein, 37, from Goodmayes in Essex,  brutally beat  his girlfriend- 26 year old Sannah Javed -causing  her to bleed to death and suffer from internal wounds – 51 different injuries- including a fractured eye socket and cracked ribs, the Old Bailey were told.   She promised to ‘always forgive’ him, after Hussein sent her text messages begging her to forgive him and pledging ”I will never do it again”  I’m really sorry, I will never shout again and touch you.’

Ms Javed told him to come to her flat with the ‘wine I love’, adding: ‘Always forgive you.’

Ms Javed tumultuous relationship with Hussain had reached a peak that compelled her to apply for a restraining order at Bow County Court in April last year, but the papers were never served on Hussain because she  foolishly took him back, despite the beatings she had endured in the past.

On the evening of December 2, Hussain called 999 to report that Ms Javed had collapsed and needed medical attention. She was pronounced dead in the early hours of the following morning  after being rushed to King George’s hospital.  A post mortem examination revealing 51 bruises and abrasions, a fractured eye socket, and several fractured ribs. Violent Hussein, initially denied the crime, but half way through the trial pleading guilty to manslaughter after realising it was impossible for him to detach himself from the killing.

The killing is a grim reminder of the dangers of women tolerating abusive relationships no matter how much a man pleads for forgiveness.  Violent men against their partners are compulsively controlling and often very insecure. They will often re-offend, and women who take them back are risking their lives, all because they often don’t want another girl to have the man. Blind love can also get in the way because it is hard to put a price on love. Having said that, it is not excusable for a woman to tolerate violent abuse in the name of love; every woman needs to love herself first and put her self love above that of any man.

Sadly, Sannah Javed did not understand this, and  paid the price of taking her violent boyfriend back. She paid with her life. After he killed her, he had the cheek to pretend to still try to hide his guilt. How much he loved her, eh? His sentence of 7 years unfortunately will do no justice to her memory or her family. She will never get an opportunity to forgive him again, but he will have another opportunity to kill again in 7 years time, or should we say  3 1/2 years time(they do serve only half, don’t they?) when he comes out.
