The weird 29 year old from Farnworth, pleaded guilty to four counts child abduction at Bolton Crown Court and  commences his sentence today.
Speaking after the case, Detective Sergeant Pete Astbury of Bolton division said: “Miah had targeted the girls, knowing how young they were, and bought them chocolate and gave them money in an attempt to groom them.
“Thankfully, Miah  has been caught and will face the consequences of his actions.”

The abduction still raises questions as to why the teenage girls accompanied a stranger into his car just because of the offer of sweets.  PC Chris Taylor from Manchester press office told eye of media ” Miah was driving erratically in a way that attracted police to his car.  It became obvious he had been smoking cannabis and police found 3 girls under the age of 16 in his vehicle.  PC Taylor confirmed it is an offence for an adult to have children under the  age of 16 in their car without the consent of their parents or carers, adding ” when children who are legally under parental guidance are found in an adult’s car without the consent of the parent’s , we can assume it is for the purpose of grooming.
Explaining why a child of up to 15 will willfully enter a stranger’s car, PC Taylor explained ”  children like this are usually vulnerable from difficult backgrounds and often found in care(homes) They are more likely to make decisions that people from supporting backgrounds will not make. Myer’s known intention was to abduct the girls to groom them, which is why he pleaded guilty to the offence”.
As soon as the children were seen, Project Phoeneix- Greater Manchester’s multi agency response to tackling child sex exploitation were brought on board and guided to their carers. Project Phoenix aims to raise awareness of child sex exploitation, help people recognize the signd, and encourage people to report it and provide support to victims and those most at risk.
