The British Media Should Ignore Mentally Unfit Tyson Fury

By Tim Parsons-

Mentally Unfit Tyson Fury needs recovery time, and should not be given attention by the media.

The former heavyweight champion who withdrew from his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko last month because of depression and mental illness has been in the press again.

This time, Fury was quoted  by the British media for referring to David Haye as ”David gay” in derogatory comments (made on twitter)branded homophobic following the gypsy boxer’s homophobic rant in the daily mail last year shortly after his heavyweight title victory.

Controversial Fury went as far as knocking the  state of the heavyweight division despite being mainly responsible for the current state of the division in which all the belts have gone in different directions since his public cry of mental health issues and failed drug tests.

Tyson Fury’s behaviour is expected of one mentally unfit. The British press would do well to ignore him because it is of no use giving platform to a man who has gone on record as being mentally unfit. The unbeaten Manchester giant has always shown some sign of mental illness, generally talking rubbish beyond the usual trash talk of the sport that comes out of the mouth of boxers. The British media must by now see that Tyson Fury is not with it and needs time to catch up.

Mentally unfit Tyson Fury has now been out of the ring for over a year with no indication when he will return. He recently swore at a BBC reporter, telling him to fxxx off, as he did when initially asked for a drug test by Ukad before his failed drug test was known. He has made his millions now and always made clear his main drive in the sport was to make money, not achieve a legacy.

Tyson Fury is responsible for putting Wladimir Klitschko’s boxing career in a mess following his own withdrawal from their agreed rematch. Klitschko is now scheduled to meet Anthony Joshua on March 4 for the WBA and IBF titles, and it would have been one and a half years since he last fought when he meets Joshua- an unbeaten KO specialist who is also an olympic gold medalist. Klitschko will be very rusty by then even if fit through sustained training.

The British media have plenty of other useful and interesting boxers to talk about in the heavyweight division. We have Anthony Joshua, David Haye, David Price, Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora and lots more. Tyson Fury is in the past and I hope the British media will see this and leave him there until he becomes current again.

It is unlikely that Tyson Fury will achieve anything else  meaningful in the sport, the world title he won from Klitschko is the best it will ever get for him. The best the British media can do for him and the sport is to ignore him completely. Tyson Fury is a moron that should not be given the attention he gets, especially if he is mentally unfit. How can the media hold a mentally unfit man responsible for his pathetic words?

Tyson Fury clearly had some boxing ability to beat Klitschko, but by failing to honour his rematch agreement, he showed himself to be an unproven champion. In fact, champion and Fury don’t go together, he is now a former champion and will most likely forever remain that way.
