A member of the British armed forces has been charged with terrorist related offences by the metropolitan police on Friday.
The arrest follows an investigation into terrorist offences in England and Northern Ireland.
Royal Marine Citral Maxwell, has also been charged with assisting another to commit acts of terrorism, including making explosives devices, alongside drug possession and fraudulent activity.
Disgraced Maxwell will appear at Westminster Magistrates courts under section 5 of the Terrorism Act.
Arrested by the metropolitan service in Somerset, properties were searched in Devon for evidence. Among the evidence found was an armour piercing rocket, recovered in Capanegh in Kay.
The military man was also charged with intent to supply Cannabis and also had bank cards associated with CVC numbers.
Adding to the horror of discoveries were purpose built holes in woodlands full of several pins, bombs, magazines, and bomb component parts, according to the Belfast
Telegraph.
The charges and discoveries are a disgrace both to Maxwell and the military services, who should be upholding high standards of conduct, professionalism, and integrity.
Instead, amongst them is a monstrous crook and terrorist, who could one day have potentially been made eligible for an award had he not been caught.
With this news in view of the most recent allegations of fraudulent claims by military charities for extra funding due to exaggerated and sensationalised claims of post traumatic stress disorder related illnesses, the British military have come under serious misconduct allegations.
Urgent mechanisms to hold the british military to account need to be implemented. It is wholly unacceptable for these sort of offences to continue.
It also confirms that individuals supposedly in professions that act to serve the British public cannot necessarily be trusted to be noble citizens of this country.
