BY ANGELA DANIELS-
All of a sudden, Britain is in a place where there is no longer clarity whether to worry about David Cameron’s government or ISIS. Only weeks ago, the hype was about bombing ISIS in Syria or heaven would fall down.
David Cameron fought hard, got the votes and bombed ISIS within hours – once, and then, no more. Over this last weekend, the next stunt was about the new ‘shoot to kill’ for the British Armed police with a review of the law to protect them from fear of prosecution if they kill —and that could include innocent people. The latest is the icing on the cake: new plans to give the US Armed police guards the authority to be stationed at Heathrow and Manchester Airports, with powers to search passengers, in the bid to prevent ISIS gaining entry into America through the airports. They will be coming with their American ‘shoot on sight’ policy.
The US Department of Homeland Security is actually planning to do the same across the world. American Big Brother image is now pushing it, and like Prime Minister Tony Blair did years ago with President Bush of America, it seems that David Cameron, on bended knees is saying to Barak Obama,’ How high?’. After the 911 tragedy in New York in 2001,
ATTACK
Britain kitted up with many special units to protect her citizens from nuclear or radioactive contamination in the event of an attack but plans to soon whittle down the number by a third, even after Paris. It begs the question whether America is influencing the security arrangements in the UK.
The thought of US Customs and Border Protection police carrying out immigration checks in Britain, with the right to shoot to kill and walk away, with no legal consequences makes one’s blood curdle. Somebody must be under a spell – no other than David Cameron. On one hand, he is fighting for a better deal for Britain in Europe, on the other hand, he is beckoning to America for a tighter relationship in which America is the superior partnership.
By coming over to man Airports in the UK, America is evidently expressing a lack of confidence in Britain’s ability to do a good job of detecting and apprehending dangerous passengers. Perhaps to the Americans, the sign of smart Intelligence is the ability to find a male from a minority community they would shoot, even when the victim is running away for safety. American Presidential Candidate, Donald Trump recently ridiculed the British Police as being afraid of ISIS. He must know this to be far from the truth. This society is simply positively different. So far, our police have successfully secured the country from Insurgency for many years.
Interestingly, America’s plan is to station their Armed guards at other airports across the world. Well, Barak Obama may convince everybody that it is the thing to do; he has the gift of the garb, Let’s wait and see. But we are talking about the same American policy that has recurrently recklessly shot dead one black victim after another, in dreadfully and obviously contemptuous zeal, and got the whole world yelling- both black and white. For reasons best known to him, Barak Obama’s reaction to the murders has been rather a low key. If little was said by him in his country, less than little is to be expected where it concerns a country he intends only to use. Note that the American police are to come here to look after America’s interests, not necessarily ours.
Britons face a two-pronged risk . British Armed guards may be able shortly to shoot to kill, and in reality get away with murder, and we also have on our heels American guests acting here like they are in America, with their own agenda and different gun rules. This will be a different England, where the possession of weapons is ordinarily unlawful for the sake of safety. it would be like a lion and a tiger being let loose among defenceless lambs.
David Cameron has called for a referendum about pulling out of Europe, there should be a referendum on allowing in American police guards – with or without diplomatic immunity.
