A huge fire engulfed a festival park in Hampshire and burnt over 80 cars go up in flames.
The Boomtown fair festival in Hamshire, attended by over 50,000 people was wrecked when the inferno took over and spoilt what was initially a well-celebrated gathering of party goers.
Star performers, Letfield, madman, and the levellers were scheduled to perform at the event. The festival has had its fair share of misfortune in the past, but nothing this serious has ever occurred at. The annual event.
This was the most serious disaster to hit the festival in years. In 2014, a 31-year-old was found slumped in a toilet dead.
The previous year, an 18 year old Oxfam Stewart, Ellie Run, died after taking the horse tranquillizer, ketamin. But what occurred on the second.day of the festival was far worse than the few misfortunes of the past.
A campsite at the festival had to be evacuated. Six fire crew fighters spent hours tackling the blaze. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but an investigation has to be launched into how it started.
Several insurance companies will be contacted on Monday, as motorists at the event seek to remedy a disaster they neither could foresee, nor cause.
How those whose cars were burnt will get back home is anyone’s guess, though it will be a lot of hard work and sudden adjustment for those who came in cars to get back home. The costs of hiring a cab to distant destinations will be extortionate.
