By Lucy Caulkett-

Bookmakers have published odds for the name of Prince William and Princess Catherine’s baby boy’s name.

The brand new baby was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, central London, and is fifth in line to the throne and the Queen’s sixth great-grandchild. The new baby, the third child of Catherine and the Duke of Cambridge, weighs 8lbs 7oz.

Crowds gathered outside the hospital and applauded at the news of the Royal birth, just a few days after the Queen’s birthday.
Royal fans across the world are waiting eagerly for Kate and William to emerge from the hospital to introduce their bundle of joy to the world. The Eye Of Media.Com is among the row of press and well wishers camping outside the hospital waiting to catch a glimpse of the new Royal. Doctors are running extra checks on the new Royal baby, whilst fans chat and relax in the sunny weather, waiting for the big moment.

A Kensington Palace statement said Catherine and her new son are “both doing well” and that members of both families had been informed. Kensington Palace announced the news on Twitter, writing: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs.”The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.

Meanwhile, book maker’s have published odds for the potential name of the new Royal addition. The name Arthur has been placed at 6/1, Albert at 11/1, Philip at 11/1, Frederick, at 13/1, and James, at 13/1. Royals are usually very particular about the names of their children, choosing names that reflect an aura of Kingship for boys, and a strong princess orientated name for baby girls.

The Queen is likely to be consulted on the final name chosen, but there is no written rule on who will decide the final name given to the boy. Like all new babies, Royal babies are completely oblivious to the history of their lineage, and do not get to understand this until three years of age at the earliest, and even so, their knowledge of their grand place is history and the future is very, very remote. By the time the children are about six years old, they begin to fully appreciate just how notable they are as a human being, and the special place the future holds for them in the world.
