The murder of a 20-year-old man was shot dead in Birmingham has alarmed the community of Goosemore Lane, Erdington.
The young victim was shot just before 7.30pm on Thursday with some locals in the area reporting hearing loud bangs on gun shots. Only 24 hours earlier, two members from The Eye Of Media.Com travelled from Erdington to Digbeth where the crippling issues of violence in the town were being discussed with both youths and youth workers there.
A 25 year old from Moore End Lane, not very far from Goosemore Lane said said he was out about 2 miles away, when a friend of his reported hearing the loud bangs. Already rumours as to the reason of the murder is circulating among the youths.
The aim of continuing to gain a wider understanding of all the factors that influence extreme violence, including murders in the Birmingham and many parts of the Uk is absolutely important.
Just three months ago, a 23 year old was killed in the Ladywood area of the City in a triple shooting that saw two others rushed to hospital. Like in this murder, no arrests have were made. There is currently a heavy police area in the vicinity of the latest murder.
Police have appealed for information, but in Birmingham, like many violent parts of Britain, fear of reprisals are always high.
