An Imaam from Birmingham has been charged with producing terrorist propaganda. Father-of-eight Tarik Chadlioui, who was wanted by authorities in Spain, was arrested at his home in Sparkhill in the early hours of Wednesday.
Chadlihioui was one of six people arrested across Europe on Wednesday after investigators on the Mediterranean Island of Mallorca demanded for his arrest.Chadlioui’s arrest will lead to further investigations about his associates to establish if he is working in conjunction with others to share his alleged message of hate and incite terrorist activity.
The Imaam appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court accused of producing propaganda material encouraging people to engage in violent jihad. The allegation is serious is confirms that there are some decent people in the Muslim community who will not stand for terrorist propaganda. Officers plan to search his home today for any other terrorist related materials , whether they be written, visual, or audio.
He was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at the same court on July 5. Since the terrorist attacks in London in the last few months, the Uk has been on alert about terrorist activity, and not many people want another terrorist act to happen in the UK. Only those who support terrorism would tolerate keeping quiet about terrorist propaganda designed to target disaffected individuals and motivate them to commit heinous acts.
Propaganda material speaks for itself and is the evidence of terrorist plans, yet those who promote terrorism are so determined in their intent that they risk being caught with all the evidence that gives them away. Common sense suggests that they know the risks of material evidence of propaganda, but their persuasive mission to indoctrinate others is so high that they actually do end up persuading quite a number in the end. Those alarmed by their bile and determination will always be their weak link to the authorities.
A number of Islamic fundamentalist in prison are influencing and pressuring inmates to convert to Islam for purposes of Jihad, and some are going for it. Mainly those who feel in desperate need of a place of belonging, or who actually suddenly find themselves embracing the ideology they hear, to the extent of being prepared to sacrifice their lives for it. It is shocking when an Imaam is caught with or charged with producing propaganda materials relating to Jihad, when they should know murder can never be justified for any reason. Chadlihioui will be allowed his opportunity to defend himself in cort, but police will have to be very incompetent to charge a religious leader on terrorism without sufficient.
