Uk prime minister Liz Truss has called for crunch talks with Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 Committee
The beleaguered prime minister invited Sir Graham to Downing Street for talks, with the meeting only arranged this morning.

Over a dozen Conservative MPs have now publicly called on her to step down – with the number growing by the hour, and have begun submitting letters of no confidence to Mr.Brady. Once 54 submissions are received, a leadership contest will be sparked. Some conservative mps prefer to institute a new leader rather than have another leadership contest in such a short time from the last one in which Ms Truss succeeded Boris Johnson.
On Wednesday at the dispatch box during Prime Minister’s Questions, a defiant Ms rRuss insisted: “I’m a fighter, not a quitter”.
On Thursday, mo Charles walker Walker said he had enough of talentless people, adding that he was “livid” and that there was “no coming back” from this for the government.

There was uproar on Wednesday evening around the vote and the methods used to get MPs to vote with the government and No 10 said the dozens of Tories who did not vote faced “proportionate disciplinary action”
Meanwhile, Transport Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan has insisted the cabinet still has confidence in Truss as PM.
The meeting follows a the number of Tory MPs publicly calling for the Prime Minister to resign hit 13, with a number describing the premier’s position as “untenable”.
Crispin Blunt said Conservative MPs “need to effect a change, frankly today, in order to stop this shambles” and Sheryll Murray announced she had submitted a letter of no confidence to Sir Graham.
