Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko are set to announce their heavyweight clash for December 10, this year.
The two heavyweights expect to reveal this coming week that contracts have been signed early this week for a real battle in Manchester.
It is believed that both heavyweights will fight for the two belts vacated by Tyson Fury in the wake of his reported mental health issues. However, promoters await final confirmation from the sanctioning bodies. Anthony Joshua’s IBF belt will definitely be on the line.
The opportunity for Joshua comes after he grabbed the IBF belt stripped from Fury this year, when he failed to defend the belts after beating Wladimir Klitschko last year. Anthony Joshua was originally scheduled to box on November 26, but had not yet agreed a deal with any opponent.
Anthony Joshua had been due to fight on November 26 but was without opponent when the opportunity to meet Klitschko presented itself, following Tyson Fury’s pathetic withdrawal from the originally scheduled heavyweight title rematch this month, citing depression.
DECEMBER BIG FIGHT
It will be a great opportunity for Anthony Joshua to take over the division, though the Londoner will be giving away a lot of experience away to the former undisputed world champion. Klitschko may be declining in age and performance, but his wide experience and hunger to regain his lost belts may make a dangerous opponent for Joshua.
This will be a big fight for both men in This coming December with big rewards too. Anthony Joshua will be the favorite, but it will be stupid to rule out Klitschko, who at 40 is still very fit and very strong. Klitschko may even be stronger than Anthony Joshua, so this fight will reveal a lot.
