The Nigerian Police Force have arrested 15 suspects in connection with the death of 220 year old Okoli Ohinze ,(pictured)who was beating to death at a university campus after being accused of stealing the mobile phone of a fellow student .
It has been reported that the suspects are students of Obafemi Awolowo University and were part of a secret cult group that allegedly administered a form of punishment known as “Scientific Maximum Shishi” on Okoli Ohinze.
The punishment involves beating the victim with objects such as sticks and rods, and it is often used to punish those accused of theft or other offenses.
The suspects have been described as members of the “Alora” secret cult group, which is known to operate on university campuses across Nigeria. The group has been linked to various acts of violence and criminal activities in the past, including extortion and drug trafficking.
The arrest of the suspects has been welcomed by many in Nigeria, who have called for an end to the violence and criminal activities on university campuses. The Nigerian Police Force has promised to thoroughly investigate the case and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The use of violence and punishment by secret cult groups is a major problem on Nigerian university campuses. These groups often operate with impunity, and their activities pose a serious threat to the safety and well-being of students and staff.
Attacks on students, particularly over accusations of theft, are unfortunately not uncommon in Nigerian universities. The lack of security measures on university campuses has created a volatile environment, leaving students vulnerable to attacks from their peers.
According to reports, Okoli Ohinze was a 200-level student in the Department of Economics at Obafemi Awolowo University. He was reportedly accosted by a group of students who accused him of stealing a phone. The group proceeded to beat him to death, and his body was later discovered by security personnel.
Okoli Ohinze’s death has shed light on the need for better security measures on Nigerian university campuses. The Nigerian government must take steps to ensure that its students are safe and protected while pursuing their education.
Okoli Ohinze’s family and friends have described him as a hardworking and dedicated student who was passionate about his studies. He was reportedly an active member of the university community and was well-liked by his peers and lecturers.
They are left shocked as to how the young man found himself in this situation .
There have been no confirmation as to whether the mob actually had evidence that Ohinze stole the mobile phone in question, or whether they simply had reason to suspect that he dis.
In a country where hardship is widespread, the push for higher education is so strong that both the good and evil find themselves in university, this widely viewed as imperative for a successful future.
However, a fraction of students join cult groups to give them a sense of importance which is ultimately delusional, sine they often seek to dominate other students and give orders on the strength of their membership of a cult group.
