Prince Harry’s bombshell book about the royal family is the biggest pre-order in decades, Watertone bookstore has said.
The booksellers opened their flagship Piccadilly branch early on Tuesday in expectation of high customer demand, as the book was published around the world in 16 languages.
Branches of WH Smith in locations including Euston, Victoria, Heathrow and Gatwick were among those to extend their hours for the release.
Days of headline-grabbing revelations from leaks ranging from how Prince Harry lost his virginity to claims that Prince Harry was attacked by his brother, Prince William, the brothers begged the then Prince Charles not to marry Camilla, a feud between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton from the outset because of stereotypes they had about Meghan Markle being a divorcee and bi-racial.
The 410-page memoir, revealing the conflict and personal tensions inside royal palaces, shows Prince Harry’s version of growing up and then falling out with the Royal Family.
The book reveals a story of strife and resentment between Prince Harry and his brother Williams over his departure from the royal family, and his Prince Harry’s anger with his father for marrying Camilla after he and his brother begged him not to.
Harry also accused his family of parroting stories to the press and refusing to intervene to correct alleged falsehoods in the story.
He blamed the press for pursuing Diana and Prince Harry said in one of several interviews promoting the book that it would be his “life’s work” to change the media landscape.

Members of the Royal Family have been left out from the acknowledgements section of the book. Rather, the duke gives special thanks to friends in the UK “who stuck by” him “amongst the fog”, adding: “Next round’s on me.”
“There are things that will still anger me, but I’m not angry any more, because I am exactly where I am supposed to be,” he told Good Morning America.
Amid all the damaging revelations, Harry says he wants his brother and father back, adding that he wants a family, not an institution,
