BRITISH FILM STAR MAY BE DONE WITH JAMES BOND ROLE

BY ERIC KING

Daniel Craig may be on his final legs as 007 James Bond, following speculation from his friend and a separate rush of twitter recommendations for Tom Hilderston to take up the role.

The traditional James Bond has always been an action hero man, with extra good looks and an infectious charm that blows the feet of every woman away.

However, suggestions from The Short List, has it that Craig will not return for another bond movie has been seems to be supported by the sudden burst of social media for Hilderstone to take the place of Craig for the next Bond movie. Craig, who has fronted four of Ian Flemming’s movie’s, was believed to be on course to return for a fifth edition, but a bidding war over Hollywood’s franchise looks a hindering factor to any continuation of the present Bond star. And comments from his friend, Mark Strong, have indicated the strongest hints yet that the British actor who graduated from Guildhall school of music and drama, is done with the bond role.

Strong expressed a wish to have played a villain in a Bond movie, before adding ”I think he’s come to the end of his Bond time, and that’s probably not going to happen, but that would have always been great.

Chosen as the sixth actor to play the role of Ian Flemming’s James Bond in the official film series, his initial casting was not met with optimism in many quarters in his bid to take over from Pierce Broman in 2005. However, his film debut was highly acclaimed and earned him a BAFTA award nomination- Casino Royale being the highest grossing at the time.

His third Bond film, Sky fall premiered in 2012 and is the highest grossing film in the series, and in the UK too. Several names have been bandied about for the next 007 role, and with no clear favourite for the post, many are pushing for Tom Hilderstone to get that role
