Record Breaking Petition For Brexit Article 50 to be revoked

By Ben Kerrigan-

A record breaking petition to derail Brexit has been signed by over 3 million people world wide, it has been revealed.

Of that figure,  about 1.26million of the signatures were from the Uk. Signatories are required to tick a box confirming they are a British citizen or UK resident and must provide a name, email address, country and postcode.

However, most the other signatories from  the  rest of the world included over 10,500 from  France about 5,000 from Germany and almost 4,000 from the United States, recorded this morning. There were also 28 names from Russia, 71 from China, five from the Vatican, three from Cuba, and one apiece from North Korea and Mongolia.

According to  reports, there were also 28 names from Russia, 71 from China, five from the Vatican, three from Cuba, and one apiece from North Korea and Mongolia. All signatories are required to tick a box confirming they are a British citizen or UK resident and must provide a name, email address, country and postcode. The signatures are in response to the stalemate negotiations over terms of leaving the EU, and the recent delay of Article 50 approved by EU member states in Brussels yesterday.

The Uk now has until May 22 to agree a deal if Mps deliver a positive vote in the Commons next week, according to stipulations given by EU chiefs.

It is hoped British Mps are able to agree a deal between now and May 22, otherwise Theresa May may be forced to put a second referendum vote to the British people. That would be an undesirable outcome for Downing Street, especially as the result could further complicate matters. Revoking Article 50 outrightly, as expressed by the petition, remains a possibility, but an unlikely one.
