A High Court judge has said that Police officers involved in the probe into an alleged VIP paedophile ring should be investigated.
Sir Richard Henriques says that when applying for warrants to search suspects’ homes, the police claimed Carl Beech was a consistent witness.
The call comes after Beech, whose identity was kept secret throughout the period police was probing the alleged paedo ring, was exposed as being a liar.
Last week, Beech was jailed for 18 years for inventing false allegations of murder and child sexual abuse. And the Independent Office for Police Conduct, cleared the officers of any misconduct over search warrants last week, after the force said there was no evidence that officers deliberately misled the district judge, who approved the search warrants.
Operation Midland cost the Met force £2.5m, and was concluded with no arrests. It involved searching the the homes of senior Mps and highly placed members of the establishment and armed forces. Beach accused several of his alleged attackers of torturing him and other victims. he also claimed to have witness the murder of some of the children who died.
It includes, bbbbbbLady Brittan , whose late husband was one of those accused by Beech – former head of the armed forces Lord Bramall, and the former MP Harvey Proctor.
