A convicted man who attacked his landlord and damaged her eye suckets is returning to court after being granted an appeal to fight the conviction. 48 year old Christian Nwala, from Plumstead South London, appealed a conviction of assault against him handed down by Bexleyheath Magistrates Court last February.
He was granted the appeal, to be heard at Woolwich Crown Court this Friday.
Christian Nwala, a shameless convict, lives with his wife and three young children at the £400,000 property in Plumstead. He received a 26 weeks suspended sentence in February for assaulting his landlady, but continued residing in the property owned by his landlord, despite not paying a penny in rent for the past year. The landlord, who insisted on anonymity, for her safety, has shown pictures of her disfigured eye to The Eye Of Media.Com, but forbidden us from publishing it, for fear she may be recognized and ridiculed by any jealous people. The 44 year old woman owns several properties in London resisted our persuasions to feature the brutal assault inflicted by violent 6ft tall Nwala.
The unnamed landlady lost a separate civil suit to evict Nwala from her property in February, after her case was blighted by procedural errors. Nwala had admitted being in receipt of the eviction notice given to him by the landlord at the hearing of the Magistrates Court in which he was convicted for grievous bodily harm. However, at the civil hearing, he denied having knowledge of the eviction notice of two months to evacuate the property. On his testimony, the judge ordered the landlord to follow the correct procedures and give him the required notice.
The landlady was also criticized by the judge for failing to give Christian Nwala her email address, rather than the requirement for her name and address to be written for tenants to see. She told The Eye Of Media.Com: ”why would I leave my address for potentially dangerous tenants to have access to. This requirement doesn’t make sense that is why I give tenants my email address. How can a man who has not paid me rent for over a year continue to live there free of charge, doesn’t pay for electricity, and calls the police for silly reasons like me having workers in my property”.
Christian Nwala is believed to have appealed his conviction in order to delay any chances of him being evicted whilst the case was pending. Written evidence from police officers were presented to the court in the first hearing , and the officers are expected to give evidence in this case. The lawyers handling her case had foolishly been trading arguments with the judge over an argument oflaw, leading to the juge to warn him of the risk he faced in being thrown out.
The aggrieved landlady now has to endure attending the case again. She told The Eye Of Media.Com :
”The medical report described me as having suffered from “Repeatedly punches and Fractured nose”. It is very strange and confusing how he managed to get a hearing of appeal. I still don’t get how a man who attacked his landlord can continue to live at a property free for over one year. Refusing to pay for electricity. He must have mental health problems, he can’t be ok. I am paying his council tax and Mortgage for him to leave in. He has even called the Council to tell them to ask me to buy them a cooker, can you imagine? What a daft man”!
