The march was cancelled after the violence, as demonstrators continued on the streets.

The clash was sparked after police charged a group of anti-capitalist demonstrators at the march who were carrying banners with slogans such as “Welcome to hell” and “Smash G20”
President Trump and Theresa May were expected to also have a meeting at the G20 Summit, where they would discuss important world political issues.
Demonstrators fired water cannon and pepper spray at masked protesters, who hurled bottles, stones and flares at police.
At least one vehicle had been set alight and a number of businesses were damaged in the melee. The outrageous conduct of protestors is unlikely to prevent the continuity of the G20 by shows the current tense climate on political issues.
