Wes Morgan has called for blockbuster film star Idris Elba to play a leading role in a future movie about Leicester City’s miraculous Premier League title win.
The Foxes audio Ranieri’s side overcame odds of 5000-1 to clinch the title in the 2015-16 season, with Morgan captaining the team to one of sport’s greatest ever upsets.
There are now talks for Leicester’s fairytale triumph to be translated into a Hollywood blockbuster, and Morgan says he has spoken to producers to give Idris Elba the top role for the film.
Creative Hollywood producers are actively considering the idea of putting such a film together, and many of those in the know such a film will happen will be produced in the next few years about a film on Leicester’s remarkable tournament victory. The collaborativr parties don’t want to be too optimistic on the timing of its eventual completion and release.
Plans
The former Leicester skipper says he only has one man in mind to play him if it happens – The Wire and Luther actor Elba.
“I’ve spoken to a few producers about it, I’m not sure whether it’ll happen or not now. Maybe Jamie Vardy has got something in the pipeline”, he said.
“It’s five years down the line now, but maybe when we’ve all retired someone will put something together on our story.”
Morgan added: “I could never get bored of talking about that title-winning campaign. At the time the thought of winning the Premier League was just never on the cards.
“We’d just stayed up in the previous season and things obviously just went from strength to strength from there
.“It was such a great mix of players within the team, but we were really limited in terms of previous successes as individuals.
“I know Robert Huth had been successful with Chelsea earlier on in his career, but besides that we were just a bunch of really talented players that hadn’t quite reached those heights.”

“If there’s ever going to be a film made about that season then my answer’s always going to be the same… Idris Elba has got to play me!
Fox lost just three games dominating the last game by 10 points in the 2015/2016 season, with Claudio Ranieri’s side becoming cult heroes.
There have long been rumours that Hollywood could turn the story of Leicester’s famous title win into a blockbuster film.
And the Foxes’ captain from that season, Wes Morgan, already knows that he wants Elba – the star in hit TV shows such as The Wire and Luther – to play him in any such film.Though it is now five years since their Premier League triumph, Morgan believes the Leicester story is one that is fit for the silver screen.
