The true extent of Adam Johnson’s stupidity was laid bare before the court in Bradford today.
The daft 28 year old who money has not been able to earn him a bit of common sense, was stupid enough to leave hard evidence of his perversion on the phone of a 15 year old girl who was once a fan of his.
Jurors at the trial of former the Sunderland player were shown pictures taken on his mobile phone. Most repulsive was the image of his groin area downloaded from his mobile phone.
The photos were used as exhibits as forensic computer expert, Paul Hunton took the stand in a packed court. Dr Hunton told jurors there had been a Google search for “legal age of consent” on Johnson’s phone four days after he met the girl on January 30.
Dr Hunton told the court that he looked at the phone taken from Johnson’s house and could verify that various web pages were looked at on February 3, 2015.The first search for “legal age of consent” was followed by another web address which appeared to show the user had clicked on a result which took him to the www.mirror.co.uk website.
That search brought the result: “What is the age of consent around the world? From Angola at 12 to Bahrain at 21.”
The expert said the next web page accessed on the phone appeared to be another search result, this time on the BBC website, and said the link was titled “BBC Radio 1. BBC Advice Age of Consent.
Stupid Johnson should have known the legal age of consent without having to do any research, for goodness sake, even an average 13 year old can tell you what the legal age of consent is. How stupid is this man really? The court also heard that Johnson admitted to police he was stupid to have kissed the, and that he ”should have known better”.
However, he claimed the kiss was not passionate and also denied more serious sexual contact that includes penetration. Well, we are not as stupid as he is to believe that because any 28 year old man who is perverted and stupid enough to leave a picture of their groin in a message to a 15 year old girl is one who will certainly want a passionate kiss and penetration too.
This does not provide evidence that he in fact passionately kissed her on sexually penetrated her, but what it tell us is that his actions with respect to the pictures, indicate that he would be very likely to have kissed and penetrated her if the opportunity was there. So the jury have to determine whether they believe the opportunity to do those things were presented to him.
By his own admission in court, he knew it was wrong, especially as he had a girlfriend- something he readily admitted but unfortunately doesn’t help his case. One thing that may have shown his stupidity even more was his voluntary admission to the court that he and his girlfriend have had problems in the past over him ”texting other girls”. Oh, what a naughty man you are, Johnson!
The court heard he told detectives: “I knew it was wrong. I have a girlfriend for one. Lots of reasons. I’ve got a family, a career. Well, that career is certainly damaged almost beyond repair unless the jury believe him and return a ‘not guilty’ verdict when all is said and done. It will be a very painful process for him until the entire case is over.
