Social Worker Of The Year Awards Kicks Off On Friday

The annual social worker awards of the year takes place tomorrow at the Midland Hotel in Manchester  to find out who the winners are from 19 categories  finalists from a pool of nominees in various categories will be crowned with the social worker of the year awards.

The award which has been going on since 2006 was founded by Beverley Williams MBE is also open to all newly qualified adult social workers who have made a positive difference to the lives of adults through their outstanding work..

One individual category winner on the night will also be crowned as ‘Overall Social Worker of the Year’, an accolade chosen exclusively by the Social Work Awards Board of Trustees .made up of social workers, industry leaders and people with lived experience of social work and care

Each Gold Award winner will receive a celebratory trophy and certificate. Finalists will receive a certificate and may describe themselves as such for the category in their corporate literature

The Eye Of Media has learnt that nominees are nominated by colleagues who believe they deserve the plaudits for their service or commitment to the field. The winners have been selected by a panel of 29 judges of  high experience in the field .

The wait is over for social workers across the country as the final shortlist for this year’s Social Worker of the Year Awards has been revealed.

The shortlist, which features 100 outstanding practitioners, teams and organisations in 18 categories, was chosen by an independent judging panel made up of social workers, industry leaders and people with lived experience of social work and care.

The winners for each of the 18 categories will be revealed during a special awards ceremony at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on Friday 17th October. One individual category winner on the night will also be crowned as ‘Overall Social Worker of the Year’, an accolade chosen exclusively by the Social Work Awards Board of Trustees.
