Social Media’s regulation of twitter will intensify after twitter accounts belonging to Britain’s first leaders were banned.
Twitter is supposed to be a channel for spreading genuine and necessary news and information, and those who use it for abusive purposes must be held to account.
Last week, several twitter handles believed to belong to Russian propagandists, were brought down following revelations they had fraudulently sowed discord in certain parts of America.
Some twitter Insiders have told The Eye Of Media.Com that twitter will be regulated more closely in 2018. News of twitter being used as a platform to spread terrorism and even Islamaphobia has contributed to the concerted efforts being made to make the social media platform a difficult place to breach the law of the land.
One twitter insider anonymously told The Eye Of Media.Com: ” a mechanism through which statements made on twitter can be comprehensively regulated is in the works, and we are getting there. At the moment , we have extra alerts that come from the public, but there are also other mechanisms inherent in the system which will be supplemented with more advanced technologies soon”.
Twitter abuse on celebrities and sportsmen is rife, and there is not yet a known mechanism for accurately filtering out all unacceptable words posted on twitter. The introduction of a new sweeping mechanism to prevent and eradicate all abuses of twitter will be progressive for the new year
