Sheffield Social Workers Impressive Mentoring Of Vulnerable Kids

By Charlotte Webster-

Sheffield social workers have been performing wonders with children throughout the pandemic and deserve much credit for it, The Eye Of Media.Com can reveal.

Sheffield Council workers and staff have been working hard every week to protect and safeguard some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our City and the Country.

Impressive social workers , Charlotte and Cath  who prefer to go just by their first name, have been working with young people who are at risk of  criminal and sexual exploitation. They  have both been helping young people a great deal. They deal with the most high risk young people in Sheffield and steer them in the right direction

Both  Charlotte and Cath are skilled at  striking relationships with  young people and engaging other professionals, including the youth justice team. They  are driven to help young people access positive activities. Charlotte told The Eye Of Media.Com:

”The  break from seeing the outside world has helped them thrive. One of our teenagers has been doing her maths and English online, and she was highly commended on a creative writing piece that she wrote. I was so proud of her. Lockdown has really given back a focus to her life and she is really engaging with us now.

“We have been helping with extra food shops, and lots of doorstep visits and phone calls just to make sure they are ok.

Visits

The social workers spend  a lot of time conducting doorstep visits, arranging  food parcels and vouchers,  engaging in WhatsApp chats, and  supporting families . We also deliver shopping for food for families, online court hearings as well as regular catch ups with our team.

A spokesperson for Sheffield Council told The Eye Of Media.Com: ”We have seen amazing transformation in some of the young people being mentored and  guided during the lockdown .

The young people have been provided food,  guidance and plenty of support.

They have heard an opportunity to express their feelings and  discuss them . Some children  have  struggled with the lack of face to face visits, so for those young people we have put on PPE and continued to visit face to face each week.

The message to any of our young people are reading this, we are so proud of how you are handling this. You have managed so well in such difficult circumstances.”
