A teenager attempted to assassinate Donald Trump at a rally in Sandford, after reaching for an officer’s holstered handgun.19 year old Michael Sandford, tried to grab a Las Vegas officer’s gun during a speech Trump was giving at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino.
Sandford made his way through a crowd of Trump supporters, seeking to get an autograph from Donald so he could get close enough to deliver a deadly shot. The attempted assassination, highlights the seriousness of the resentment towards Trump, who has many radical and controversial views and will be the most fearsome president the United States ever had, if he pulls it off in the election. There is a growing belief that Hilary Clinton is leading in the polls, but only just. Obama’s support for her will give her that extra edge over Trump, who still has a growing following because of his views, as radical is they are. This is the first attempt made by anyone to assassinate anyone in these election campaigns.
Sandford reportedly told authorities he drove to Las Vegas from California specifically to kill Donald Trump and even shot off a few practice rounds at a local gun range the day before the rally. Strangely, the teen had a U.K. driver’s license on his person. The U.S. District Court in Nevada is charging Sandford with an act of violence on restricted grounds. Michael Steven Sanford is lucky he is not being charged with murder, though does he care anyway? Assassins know the chances of escaping this type of murder, is next to zero. So, it is fair enough to say they must be prepared for it. They still will be hit my shocking regret when they get caught and realize a huge sentence faces them. The strange thing about this story is why he did not bring his own gun into the Hotel.
The simple answer is that he could not because he knows tight security would mean him getting searched. His plan was the closest he could get to achieving his ill mission, but he was caught and detained, and will not face the wrath of the law. Grabing the gun of a policeman is not is smart thing to do. Subscribing to be an assassin is stupid too, because the assassin can never tell when he will be caught, even if he escapes at the time. Following the murder of Conservative Joe Cox, it is strange how an attempted murder was planned so soon.
