Romanian Dad Jailed For Drunken Behaviour In Street Party During Uk Lockdown

By James Simons-

Unemployed and drunken  Romanian dad Stefan Balaci, who moved to the West Midlands to find work, has been jailed for 9 months and banned for driving after being caught up in a fight at a street party during the Uk lockdown. The thug who moved from Scumthorpe in search of a job, was caught swigging cider and waving a metal pole around by police.

Balaci’s(pictured)offence was aggravated by the fact he was meant to be on a suspended sentence. Proceedings were interpreted to him through an interpreter who wore a mas because the convicted criminal  does not understand English.

Humberside Police were called to Sheffield Street in Scunthorpe on Sunday after reports that a large group of 15-20 people were drinking and arguing after a house party spilled into the street.Balaci admitted breaching a suspended prison sentence imposed by Yeovil Magistrates’ Court in November 2018.

He was also found guilty of failing to provide a breath specimen, driving while banned and having no insurance had been proved at the same court in his absence. Cops from Humberside Police attended the scene in Scunthorpe on Sunday after reports that a large group of 15-20 people were drinking and arguing after a house party spilled into the street.

Balaci was carrying a black and silver metal bar that had a strap on it, making it look like a police baton. The criminal was swinging it about and hitting dustbins. He was arrested and the metal bar was taken from him. He claimed that he did not know anything about social gatherings being banned. Mitigating for him said:

“He accepted that he caused people to be at risk because of close contact with people.”He had little recollection because he had been drinking lots. He had been drinking wine and whisky.” The metal bar was not his and he claimed that he had no idea where it came from.Balaci was arrested but claimed he knew nothing about staying indoors even though people were “nervously sitting in their homes complying with the Government’s directions”, Grimsby Magistrates Court heard.

Six other people were nearby at the time and children were all looking worried.

“He can’t recall anything about the incident,” said Mr Dickins.

“Drink seems to be at the root of all his problems.”

District judge Daniel Curtis told Balaci: “At a time when this country is locked down and at a time when people are nervously sitting in their homes complying with the Government’s directions, you find yourself in drink as part of a large group causing a disturbance on the streets of Scunthorpe.”
