Princess Diana Handwritten Letter On Auction For $2k

A heartfelt letter from Princess Diana sent the year she divorced Prince Charles is up for auction, the eye of media.com have heard from our friends in the U.K Mirror.

The handwritten letter was sent to Spinal Research charity worker, Simon Barnes,The Mirror reported.
In the letter, which shows he beautiful handwriting, princess Diana sweetly wished her friend a nice 1997. She said”I hope 1997 will be a happy year for you.”
The letter is currently being sold online with Boston-based RR Auction, with bids closing on December 7.
It has an estimate of $2,000 (£1500).

Kensington Palace

The handwritten letter from Diana was written in December 1996 on Kensington Palace paper. The Mirror also revealed that
Princess Diana’s letter to her friend, Simon Barnes, reveals her thoughts about the year she divorced Prince Charles
In the letter dated December 21st 1996, Diana wrote: “Thank you so much for thinking of me at Christmas time—After all the changes that have taken place this year it’s marvellous of you to be so thoughtful.
“I hope 1997 will be a happy year for you—personally I can’t wait to get out of this one!”
Princess Diana and Prince Charles were divorced in 1996, four years after they announced their separation in 1992. The darling of the British people,Princess Diana was believed to be unhappy for many years before her tragic death in 1997 in Paris when in a car with Dodi Fayed, whom she was dated at the time.
The letter being auctioned alongside a personal handwritten Christmas note from “Granny” The Queen to Prince William which is expected to fetch £1,400.
The brief note on Buckingham Palace paper was also sent with an advent calendar that reads: “William, I hope you enjoy opening this each day. Granny.”
The U.K was in mourning when the news of Diana’s death broke out because she was loved dearly. Princess Diana did a lot to modernise the image of the Monarchy, ever so kind and caring.
Historical footage of her visiting orphans and the poor in other countries showed her very warm and unrivalled heart. She was the gold of humanity in so many ways.  Long may she live in our hearts
