Parliamemt Will Step Up Security In Wake Of Attack

By James Simons-

Parliament Will Step up security after Thursday’s terrible terrorist attack.

Following the carnage that killed 4 people and injured over 25, there are no opposing views to the idea of enhanced security in Parliament.

It has been revealed that the armed officer who shot and killed the evil terrorist was one of the personal guards of defence minister, Michael Fallon. The police officers at the gate were unarmed, leaving those officers vulnerable to attack.

The terrorist was able to get 20 yards into the gates of Parliament before being stopped. Mp’ s raised the need for tighter security in Parliament in 2016, but very little has so far been done to implement the highest level of security in Parliament’s vicinity. The urgency to do that has now been heightened.

Shadow Secretary, Diana Abbott, today objected to any plans to militarise Parliament in order not to put off ordinary members of the public from coming to Parliament to lobby Mp’s.

The reality is that a relatively militarised Parliament will not constitute an obstruction to genuine members of the public who have a legitimate and honourable purpose in Parliament. Parliament needs to be very secure, and all members of the public visiting Parliament should be thoroughly searched before being allowed in.

This should be a standard procedure in a place like Parliament. Especially after a terrorist attack right at the heart of the government. The UK government will definitely make the necessary steps to address security in Parliament; this we can be assured of.
