Obama Gives Inspiring Speech To Support Clinton

By Aaron Miller-

President Obama inspired Democrats on Wednesday with a strident call to action In a carefully worded speech.

American President Obama was smooth and expectedly intelligent and articulate in his choice of words, in which he boosted Hilary Clinton, whilst scathing of Donald Trump.

Obama smartly contrasted Reagan’s invocation of America as John Winthrop’s “shining city upon a hill” with Trump’s vision of a “divided crime scene that only he can fix.” His speech was touching and impacting, just like one would expect from a speech given by a country’s president, especially the United States of America.

Every president is expected to be intelligent, articulate, and confident. It goes with the post, though former president, George Bush, was an exception to the rule. However, not every President has the smooth delivery of both words and brains, like Obama does. Obama was complimentary of Hilary Clinton in every way possible, claiming she was a more worthy contender for the White House than he himself, to which he was greeted by a chorus of boos. Obama responded with ”vote, don’t boo”.

Obama’s speech turned heavily critical when he described Trump as a “homegrown demagogue” whose chief sins were ignorance, hatred, and contempt for American democracy. The president was clearly referring to Trump’s recent misguided call for Russia to find ”the 30,000 missing  emails” of Hilary Clinton. The public knock and criticism of Trump by the president is not good for his reputation at all, though this on its own will not necessarily ruin his chances of victory. It will certainly have out a dent in his chances.

A recent poll showed Trump to be ahead on Clinton in the polls, though those polls may not necessarily reflect an accurate feeling of the country’s mood.

“Thank God the President had the grace on that stage last night to point out that Donald Trump is neither a Republican nor a conservative,” Resurgent editor Erick Erickson stated the next day. “I am glad that even the President is not willing to tar and feather my party with Trump, despite my party’s willingness to commit political suicide.”

Tony Fratto, a former communications aide to President George W. Bush, tweeted that Obama deserved special credit for absolving conservatives because he “has every incentive to say the opposite.”

Obama’s message was reinforced by a video entitled “Solemn Responsibility.”broadcast earlier in the night. The video featured notable  Republicans like 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney, describing Trump as dangerously unfit to serve as commander-in-chief. As  Romney drew comparisons between Trump and past presidents, he made the Republican nominee appear to be going for boots too big for him.
