A big lesson is to be learnt by the sad murder of model and teaching assistant, Michael Adegbite who campaigned against knife crime, as he was stabbed to death after he confronted youths who had allegedly tried to steal his laptop. The model and his friend on arrival at the agreed meeting place, were set upon by 3 youths who tried to steal his laptop. Adegbite apparently confronted the individuals who attempted to steal his laptop after he had got his laptop back, but was then stabbed in his chest. This is a desperately sad story because the victim had already escaped and would have been better advised not to approach his attempted attackers once their initial plan had failed.
The 28 year old model who had advertised his MacBook Air on Gumtree, made a fatal error in doing so and meeting the buyer in Auckland close, Enfield in north London on Sunday evening. Gum tree is a well known place for advertising products for sale, but it might be worth noting that it is too risky to advertise very expensive things online because of the risk of robberies or attempted robberies, the sort that took place here.
Unless, those advertising expensive products are accompanied by a few people who are offering extra protection by their presence, it is not advisable to sell expensive things to faceless online buyers whose psychological mindset is unknown to the seller. People who have things they want to sell would often see online places like ebay and gumtree as viable avenues to achieve their sale but this must always be done with caution.
The dead brother later told the press it was ironic that someone who had so tirelessly campaigned about the dangers of knife crime should allegedly fall victim to it.
He said: “He wanted to help young people from troubled backgrounds, show them the right path.
“He talked to them about the dangers of knife crime and in the end he was the victim of it.
“It’s just senseless.
“He was killed over a laptop.

The dead man’s mother is currently sick, so it is desperately sad for the family, and eye of media send their warmest condolences to the family.
