Michael Gove has been unwisely been returned to the government as part of Theresa May’ s latest election reshuffle.
The former justice and education secretary has been appointed with the post of environmental secretary . The Edinburgh born MP will be working alongside Boris Johnson, whom he stabbed in the back in 2016 when the Foreign Secretary was the front runner for the prime minister’s job.
The opportunity is said to have come because of his public support for her during the election. Campaign. The move comes amid expected recriminations by Mp’ s in what is expected to be a tense cabinet meeting today.
Johnson is seen as a front runner to replace May if she trips up anytime soon, but he has publicly stated his support for the prime minister. Working with Gove will be a nightmare for Boris Johnson who was left in a shell after Gove staged a last minute coup to prevent his appointment as prime minister.
Gove himself did not get the prime ministerial job , and had to resign. May has given him a life line, just like she gave Boris Johnson. The surprising appointment should Irk Johnson , who he will have to work with Gove . At this time of political crisis , Gove’ s inclusion in the cabinet could create more problems than solutions.

A man who once aspired for the prime minister’ s job , there is no reason to believe those ambitious have completely evaporated. Perhaps Theresa May wants to use him as a gatekeeper to keep an eye on those may secretly be plotting a coup against the beleaguered prime minister.

The official position is that the appetite for another leadership contest is none existent for the sake of party unity. However, some politicians keep their cards close to their chest.
