Johnson Cancels Speech After Protesters Against Austerity And Racism Turn Up

By Tony O'Riley-

Boris Johnson has cancelled a visit to Kent after protesters  anti-austerity and  anti racism  signs lay in wait to disrupt his speech.

The scheduled plan to address supporters in Rochester this afternoon was aborted after the pockets of demonstrators  were spotted planning to disrupt the occasion. The signs read “Tories out”, “Austerity killed over 130,000, the blood is on your hands” and “No to racism, no to Boris Johnson”. The prime minister is believed to have been advised by the police to avoid the disruption.

It comes on a day when the opposition leader, Jeremy Corbyn set out to discredit the prime minister by releasing leaked documents that suggest Johnson may have misled the country about his Brexit deal in relation to border checks between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The last time Corbyn attempted to expose a leak in relation to claims of the NHS up for sale to the U.S, it backfired when it emerged that the documents were made under the leadership of Theresa May, and that the prime minister had no plans to sell the NHS to the U.S.

Johnson has apologised for comments made in the past that were considered to be racist, but there are still a number of people not satisfied with the apology because they believe once a racist, always a racist. Johnson has stressed that many of the comments he made or statements he made in print years ago were taken out of context, and not intended to offend anyone.
