Former Jamaican Miss World, Lisa Hanna, a member of the Jamaica’s People’s National Party has posted a message on instagram, believed to be designed to counteract a viral video which suggests

A brief video filmed during the ceremonial welcome to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge upon their arrival to Kingston, the capital city of Jamaica,  distastefully appears to reveal Kate Middleton being snubbed by Lisa Hanna, a member of the Jamaican People’s National Party and former beauty queen.

In the clip, Kate Middleton appears to be speaking to Ms Hanna – who turns her head away without replying to the royal.  Ms Hanna almost immediately turns her head back in the direction of Kate Middleton, in what appears to be confirmation that the snub was deliberate.

The clip of the video went viral as it was shared multiple times on social media.

Analysts at The Eye Of Media.Com that viewed the video believe Ms Middleton was snubbed, but ther possibilities for the seeming snub has been given.

Writer Amber Smart said: ”from the clip, it certainly looks  like Ms Hanna deliberately looked away at the same time as Middleton attempted to speak to her. It sure looked rude, but she has since posted other footage of she and Middleton chatting away in a friendly manner.

We can see that Kate’s mood went from a smile to a straight face, so she felt ignored”

Analyst Terry Edward said: ”A lot depends on the conversation that was taking place before then, just  before Ms Hanna looked away. It all looks like things got too serious. There is the underlying issues of reparations being pushed by the Jamaican political authorities, and that may have been behind the snub. It wasn’t courteous

In a post on instagram, Ms Hanna posted a message believed to be aimed at counteracting the image of the snub. She claimed to have had a interactive and pleasant conversations throughout proceedings, as they ‘talked about family, culture, and our people. She said she was ”a firm believer in reparations which made strides in submissions to Britain, which examined the economic costs of slavery to Jamaica”.

Most interestingly, she claimed to have welcomed the Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge with hospitality- one which may have been apparent during the early stages of their visit, but not during the moment of the snub.

Some observers believe the snub was reflective of some discontent in slow developments around the talks of expected reparations and expected apology- a request which if granted would open up a can of worms, making it potentially awkward for the Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge.

The beauty queen turned politician Lisa Hanna has ascended to global political acclaim almost two decades  after winning Miss World .

The influential 46 year old  Jamaican political figure  went viral on Twitter in a clip that depicted her giving Kate, 40, the cold shoulder during an official event welcoming the royal couple to the country.

Ms Hanna,  a member of the opposition People’s National Party has expressed her commitment to removing the Queen as head of state, and plans to lobby Britain for reparations.

That position does not justify what appeared to be a rude gesture

However, what clearly appeared to be a rude gesture from her to the Duchess Of Cambridge was disgraceful and unacceptable. It seemed to be Hannah’s way of symbolizing Jamaica’s political agenda to be independent of the British monarchy.
