Jamaican Woman Celebrated After Winning Miss Universe

A Jamaican woman is being celebrated after winning miss UniverseThe 23-year-old student born in St Thomas, Jamaica, blew judges away  at the event in ExCel London after singing Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. She said: “This feels like a dream, I’m so grateful.”

“Whatever it is you see in me, thank you. I’m ready to get to work.” She plans to study medicine and become a doctor. She tweeted on Saturday: “Please know that you are worthy and capable of achieving your dreams… you have. Toni Anne said that this time last year she had no idea she would be participating in a world beauty competition, let alone winning one. She beat 111 other contestants representing different countries, to be the fourth Jamaican winner of the title since the  inception of  the competition .

Miss Nigeria, Nyekachi Douglas, received internet praise when she celebrated the eventual victory of  Miss Jamaica, Toni-Ann Singh, and Miss Brazil, Elis Coelho. A dance by Douglas for her friend stomped her feet and shouting then two other finalists with a group hug. Douglas took to Instagram with a live video in which she described Singh as “amazing” and a big supporter of her fellow contestants.“A lot of times in this kind of competition, there’s a lot of times I thought … this is really too much for me,” Douglas said,

Toni Anne Singh said she hopes young aspirational  look a her and believe that anything is possible.
