Jailed Paedophile Aspin Claims To Have Passed Lie Detector

By James Simons-

John Aspin- A jailed paedophile caged last Friday, claims to have passed a lie detector test. Guest House owner, 67 year old John Aspin, from Southport, claims a stringent polygraph test he took shows he is innocent of the offences for which he has been imprisoned for 15 years.

His claim was communicated to the eye of media.com by a family friend, after a signed copy was sent to the visiter which was published today, Thursday.

The family member asked us to ”please campaign for his release, adding ”I know you are a credible publication with integrity. Aspin is a sweet and honest soul and did not possibly do what he was jailed for. He is a victim of a miscarriage of justice, the fact he passed a lie detector test proves this”.

However, the credibility of a lie detector test has long been debatable, that our best action is to simply tell the story.

Aspin was jailed after a trial at Liverpool Crown Court for taken two children to the basement of a friend’s hotel and subjecting him to violent sex against their will.

The sentence for historical offences in the 70’s and 80’s when he was between the ages of 26 and 33. Aspin and his late husband, Bill Bryant, were accused of plying the first boy with drinks before rubbing his legs and kissing him. The first boy told the jury that Aspin told him ”don’t worry, don’t panic, you know you are probably gay, don’t you?”

Aspin and his husband then allegedly made him perform sex acts before giving him more drinks and urging him to stay the night. ”They put poppers up my nose, my head was spinning , and I felt spaced out, the boy told the jury, according to notes from local journalists who attended the curt hearing.

Aspin was accused of holding the boy on one occasion whilst his late husband raped him.

However, Aspin’s note sent to the visiter says: “We all have to have faith in the British Justice and jury system, of that there is no doubt.”

“Those who know about this case are aware that l have passed a stringent polygraph test where the results showed that I was truthful when I denied the offences for which I now stand convicted and sentenced.

“Further to the above I would like it to be known that the polygraph test was not allowed to be presented as evidence in my defense, although I am aware that the judge in my case has seen the full polygraph test results.

“Perhaps it is time for such polygraph tests to be utilized in all matters of an historical nature and most certainly when the only evidence is that of a person’s word against that of another

“I believe it would greatly assist those who investigate such matters should these tests be more widely adopted than they already are.”

Polygraph or lie detector tests are not admissible in UK courts, neither are they used in American courts. However, they are used by American police during the investigative process in aiding the direction they take. Advocates claim they are generally reliable with a 99% success rate, but critics say the rate of accuracy is closer to 90% than it is 99% in accuracy.

VARIABLES

Variables, like nerves, anxiety issues are believed to be capable of discrediting a truthful participant. Equally, it is claimed that some individuals are so acutely conscious of how to regulate their system that they can beat it. Other issues with the lie detector include the possibility for the participant to forget the truth about actual events due to alcohol or drugs, in which case they may sincerely believe something false.

However, the lie detector is regularly used in popular British television show,  The Jeremy Kyle Show’ to condemn those who fail it as liars. The results of the lie detector test is so firmly relied on in ascertaining facts relating to cheating in relationships that it has kept former partners apart indefinitely.

The judge who jailed Aspin is apparently aware of the polygraph test he passed, but has taken no action to reverse the decision. The eye of media.com has heard Aspin plans to appeal the sentence. Some journalist who attended the court hearing told the eye of media.com that the witnesses seemed credible, and that both accusers were not known to each other and gave a similar account of Aspin’s conduct decades ago.
