North korea Is Really Testing America’s Patience

By Aaron Miller-

North Korea has systematically been testing America’s patience with  its continued  defiance of international rules.

North Korea’s leader, Kim Jung Un, has persistently declared his ambition to develop a nuclear arsenal capable of striking the United States.

On Tuesday, the man at the heart of a potential world crisis tested an intercontinental ballistic that some analysts believe is potentially powerful. In an audacious show of power, the North Korean leader also packaged his missile test in a cheeky claim of a gift to America.

The Pentagon has  a variety of  multiple war strategies  including a pre-emptive attack on North Korea if pushed too far. An Annual military exercise with South Korean forces has been a longstanding practise. However, attacking the bullish regime of Kim Jung Un has its draw backs.

President Trump  vowed to ”solve the North Korean problem, early in his first term. The president went as far as sending warships into the nearby waters of the Korean Peninsula.  But he has since slightly retreated on his aggressive rhetoric in response to North Korea, relying in part on China to act as a go between the two feuding nations.

COMBATIVE

President Trump’s once very combative spirit has slightly been tempered with increased knowledge and advise about the likely scenario to result from an attack on North Korea.  Apart from the heavy casualties almost inevitable to result from an attack. it may not be possible to completely eradicate the growing arsenal of North Korea, hidden underground , in mountain caves, and mobile launchers.

RETALIATION

A retaliation from North Korea would lead to much loss of life, although most of the artillery of the problematic country will eventually be neutralized. That is assuming North Korea do not have nuclear weapons it claims to possess and has promised to use in the event of a confrontation.

SARCASTIC

Kim Jung Un’s sarcastic gift to the American ‘bastards’ as he put it, on their national celebration of independence day is a taunt of potentially serious proportion’s. It was an attempt to put on a show for his domestic audience that they are at least on equal footing to America or even more dangerous.

DELUSIONAL

That view is delusional , although in some sense  he can be forgiven for believing he poses enough of a threat to make America operate cautiously. The North Korean President is testing America’s patience because Donald Trump could one day wake up on the wrong side of the bed and decide he has had enough, and do the unthinkable.

Such a reaction will not be as crazy as it will appear despite the potential danger it could cause to South Korea, China, and even some parts of America like Alaska.
