A father and son missed their flight at Manchester airport after being arrested for. a drunken argument. The rest of their family got on their flight safely.
The pair had spent so much time drinking in a bar that they arrived late at a boarding gate in Manchester airport for their Turkey-bound flight. Police said the two family members allowed the drink get the better of them. Police did not reveal what they were arguing about, but it was likely to be a family matter.
Whatever the cause of the argument, it is a disgrace to any family for an argument to be so prolonged on the way to a flight abroad, that the parties involved fail to control their temper and have an intelligent adult discussion or a debate about the issue at hand, and diffuse it amicably. Airport sources told the eye of media.com that their family members tried to intervene to resolve the matter, but the pair would have none of it. The alcohol intake played a role without question, but alcohol can never be an excuse for unrestrained behavior in public, especially on a trip abroad.
Despite the arrival at Manchester airport of police on the scene, the pair continued arguing at the gate, and ” talked themselves into getting arrested”, according to police.
DRUNK AND DISORDERLY
The story is an example of an immature pair who failed to appreciate where they were and the level of nuisance their behavior was causing. The 27 years old son should have known better and held back a bit, considering this was his father he was dealing with. Even if his father was intoxicated, a bit of respect and maturity from his young son would have gone a long way. They will both pay a hard price for their stupidity while the rest of their family contemplate the strange and dumb scenario that has befallen them all.
Just imagine if the rest of the family are relying on the man to support them financially on their holiday, a nightmarish trip in Turkey will await them. They will be laughing stock of Manchester for anybody who hears this ridiculous story. It doesn’t take much to imagine how much more enraged they will be once they are let out of the cells. And the thought they may both have to sleep under the same roof tonight is a frightening one, because once one or both of them decide to hit the bar for a few more booze, a serious kick off may occur again. It should be hoped that they sleep in different places tonight for their own good.
A statement from Manchester Police read ” No other members of the public were involved, but as they arrived too late at the gate due to spending too much time in the bar, they missed the flight, but had they got there on time it’s quite possible they would have been refused access to the flight anyway”. What a pair of idiots!
The father and son must feel pathetically stupid for missing their flight, and will surely have plenty of time to escalate their argument when they are eventually released.
