THE EYE OF MEDIA EXPAND SERVER TO CATER FOR HIGH GROWTH

BY GABRIEL PRINCEWILL

The eye of media.com have today expanded our server to cater for the growing interest in our site.

The last few weeks has seen a surge in visitors to our site, many coming from America, Russia and Canada, largely through our  Internet radio platform- the eye of destiny radio. Our administrators brought to my attention last Friday the need to boost our server to accommodate our foreign audience after comments from abroad suggesting a relatively slower speed in their Internet only when on our site- a problem they had not encountered previously.
When a test was conducted to assess the problem, we discovered that the Internet speed in the UK was fine in a number of other households located in areas with good Internet coverage. However,  readers situated in areas abroad where Internet coverage is usually good seemed to independently express slow Internet when on our site, prompting the move to expand our Internet server.
World renowned website hosting, Go daddy, stated  that their servers run by ”gigabytes per ram by storage on the server and generally have load balance on their manged word press. However, their representative, known only as Bill, told the eye of media.com that servers begin to slow down when the number of overall visitors reach 25,000, pointing out their high quality upgraded servers that neutralizes such a slow down for only £3.99 monthly for 3 years. What an excellent deal! Their offer goes up to cater for sites with an audience of 100,000, 400,000, and 800,000.
WARM
We have been blown away by the many warm comments from readers, some of which we have unfortunately been unable to respond to on some occasions because of the sheer numbers that come in. My deep appreciation goes to our committed admin staff who take the time to respond to many of those comments. I myself read the comments often, but unfortunately do not always have the time to go through them all, choosing instead to attend to particular comments drawn to my attention. However, we encourage your comments on any topics that catch your fancy, and are always open to ideas for consideration.
Particularly astounding has been the visits to our  internet radio, though the numbers from what I am told, fluctuates in the course of the day from very high to sometimes low, depending on the time of day, and the music played. The diversity of tunes and choice of music is determined by our radio co-ordinator, Vince Godwin, and some of our dj’s, as well as the requests that sometimes come from our listeners. Our blog site was down for 5 days as we migrated the contents to the main go daddy site from our former hosts, who have a reasonably fast speed. The process should have lasted just 48 hours, but we encountered more challenges than anticipated, but are at last back.
We are warmly touched by those readers who have suggested we enter a blog competition, though we are not aware of any that exist, neither do we have plans to do that. We will continue to work hard to with a view to satisfy your appetite by getting you only the best stories and appraisals we choose, both those in the public domain and those we discover through our contacts, including you, our loyal readers. Our interest is in the more unique stories, even where they may be disheartening, because there are often lessons to learn from them.Though our perspective of some known stories will be conveyed to you, particularly when considered important enough for your information.
We always welcome constructive criticisms and contributions, and will endeavor to respond accordingly when deemed fit to do so
