Eddie Hearns Is Using Reverse Psychology To Ensure Fury Fights Wilder

By Tim Parsons

Eddie Hearns is using reverse psychology to ensure Tyson Fury gets into the ring with Deontey Wilder this year, and get beaten by Wilder.

That’s the view adopted by The Eye Of Media’s Think Tank group who made the finding today, Friday. High thinking analysts at The Eye Of Media.Com believe Hearns constant expression of skepticism in the press that Fury will withdraw from the scheduled fight in November or December is an attempt to psychologically compel Fury to go ahead with the fight in act of defiance and not consider withdrawing from the fight under any circumstances. Fury has been out of the ring for over two years battling issues with depression and cocaine use.

The unbeaten gypsy heavyweight has been in the ring twice in the last three months, since his return to the ring this year. However, he has failed to impress in both come back fights, first against weak opposition against Sefer Seferi, then against better but limited opposition in Francesco Pianeta two weeks ago. Fury looked better against Piainetta, but not very sharp. Many boxing fans had once picked Fury to beat both Deontey Wilder and Anthony Joshua, but most ave changed their minds after seeing Fury’s last two fights. The consensus in boxing circles is that Wilder will demolish Fury if the pair meet this year.

Most observers would agree that Fury’s plans to meet Wilder this year is genuine, especially considering the very boisterous and daring nature of Fury. Frank Warren has openly confirmed tat the fight is on, but Eddie Hearns, who promotes Joshua, has continued to suggest that Fury will withdraw from the fight

[Fury is] certainly not [ready to fight],” Hearn told BettingPro.com.
“I think he knows that and everyone in boxing knows that and unless he’s getting $20million [£15m] for that fight, I don’t think he’ll take the fight against Wilder to be honest with you.“I know they’ve said it is happening, there’s no date or venue yet and I think Fury needs one more, he knows that.

“He’s done unbelievably to come back from where he was and he deserves a huge amount of credit but he looked very poor in his last fight, he got booed out of the ring, he’s not an entertaining fighter to watch

He’s awkward and tricky which is not great for people to watch but it’s effective as we saw against [Wladimir] Klitschko so I think if he can have a fight or two more, which was always his plan, he’s got a very good chance against the likes of Wilder and Joshua but right now, he stands no chance”. “I think he might have something up his sleeve but I don’t see him getting in the ring this year with Wilder for sure.” Chris Williams, a phenomenal thinker, told The Eye Of Media.Com:

” On the face of it, this fight is happening, Tyson Fury is the kind of man to take such a risk. His natural self confidence is sky high, but he could always come to the private realisation that this fight has come too soon. There is a strong chance people close to him would tell him this, including his wife. It could be a question of whether Fury believes it is worth giving it his all in preparation for what will definitely be at least a £10m per day, or whether he thinks his reputation is worth more than £10m and that he should postpone the fight until 2019.

If Fury is thinking the latter, he wouldn’t want Hearns prediction to be proved right, and will block off any thoughts of pulling out because of his pride. If Fury is thinking smartly, he will delay the fight until next April, and let’s face it, Wilder will still be champion if Fury skips this fight until then. The thing is that Fury’s pride and Hearns constant expressed skepticism about the fight will blind Fury from making the right decision.”

Frank Warren has said an official announcement for the fight between Fury and dangerous Wilder will be made next week, and the boxing world is waiting desperately for the formal confirmation of the fight. Once the fight is announced, it will be a big sell that will require Fury to be in the best shape of his life. Wilder will be favourite to successfully defend his belts with a knockout, but Fury who will have a two inch height advantage and at least two and a half stonnes advantage in weight could possibly outbox Wilder and surprise the world. A victor for Fury will be one of the greatest stories told in boxing, but the more likely outcome is for Fury’s reputation to be damaged by awful loss in the hands of Wilder

The official position from The Eye Of Media.Com is for Fury to wait until next year, despite the fact everyone wants to see the fight. but my view is that he should go ahead with the fight is he genuinely believes he will win. Only if his willingness to fight is purely motivated by money should he reconsider the fight, because his health and safety is far more important than money. Turning up just for the pay cheque , as will be concluded if Fury is quickly destroyed by the American, will ruin his position.
