Donald Trump has apparently gone out of his Way to exempt new London Mayor from his ban on Muslims.
Trumps exclusion of Khan from his mighty controversial law, would have been flattering for some, but not Sadik Khan.
Khan would have been heavily criticized in Muslim circles if he had falling for the bait. The challenge of justifying an isolated privilege based on his post would strongly undermine his representative role for Londoners as an all inclusive people.
An element of relief must have accompanied the targeted exemption for Khan, until a reality check hit home. That reality is that it can’t work.
Acceptance of the discriminatory privilege would be tantamount to an implicit compliance with the rhetoric of the ban. The near impossibility of reconciling two opposing ends of the spectrum would be psychologically paralyzing.
Trump wants to change the face of America. He is intently determined to eliminate terrorism. Though how he will successfully launch his war against an enemy that also exists internally, is yet to be seen. Will he one day also ask all Muslims to leave America?
Donald Trump has a hoard of fans who just love this level of political radicalism. Many have been waiting for such a president. There will be no love last between Trump and Khan. What does Trump really care?
