Students at a Northwich college are celebrating a record number of offers to attend Oxford and Cambridge universities.

Twenty students at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College  received news of their offers at the prestigious universities after sitting interviews before Christmas.

The outstanding college which has a long tradition of academic excellence is reputed for its specialist A Level provision in more than 30 subjects and  amongst the highest achieving sixth form colleges in the country.

The impressive riverside campus, situated in the heart of Cheshire, boasts one of the professional teachers in the UK with the highest level of expertise in raising pupil curiosity and building their enthusiasm. The school’s established work ethic and expert mentoring accounts for most of the success of the students, but they also generally admit very intelligent and committed students unto their A level courses.

Sir John Deane’s has consistently topped league tables for outstanding results and is ranked amongst the highest achieving sixth form colleges in the country.

A spokesperson for the school told The Eye Of Media.Com:  This college provides specialist A level provision in more than 30 subjects and are committed to helping all our students achieve the highest possible grades.

”We have an excellent relationship with Oxford and Cambridge, both of whom welcome applications from our students. The Oxbridge process supports suitable applicants, offering thorough preparation and guidance at every stage.

”Throughout Year 12 and Year 13, the college arranges a number of career and progression events providing students with a variety of opportunities to help them make informed decisions about their path forward beyond the college, and each student has a career mentor.

Sir John Deane’s teachers are specialists in their subject areas and students benefit from their deep commitment to the subject as well as their knowledge and experience beyond the syllabus”

Exemplary teacher Robert Palin, the Oxbridge co-ordinator, said all the pupils at the school should be proud of themselves.

He said: “Congratulations to all the students involved in this year’s Oxbridge programme, including all those who were offered an interview. It is an incredible experience and they should be extremely proud of themselves.

“These students have worked really hard and have become an incredibly close community, supporting each other and developing ideas together during our discussion sessions.

“The number of offers is testament to their hardwork”

Pupils at Sir  John Deans College have developed an impressive habit of consistent reading even before beginning their course, and have an appreciation for learning and understanding which is independent of the drive for  just producing good grades, but often leads to good grades.

The college’s outstanding track record is part of  ongoing research into understanding those factors that contribute to high academic performance in certain Uk schools, which separate them from other schools.
