Gary Glitter has denied eight allegations of sexual offences against a girl who was aged between eight and 11 when the alleged abuse took place more than four decades ago.The former glam rock star, whose real name is Paul Gadd, appeared before Southwark Crown Court by video link from prison on Wednesday and entered not guilty pleas to all the charges.
The allegations concern a single complainant and relate to a period between March 1978 and December 1981. Prosecutors allege Gadd targeted the girl while she was a child, including by giving her chocolate and inviting her to his home in Kensington and Chelsea, west London.

He is accused of four counts of indecent assault on a girl under 13, two counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and two counts of indecency with a child under 13.
During the hearing, the 82-year-old appeared on screen wearing a blue hat, blue shirt and navy jacket, seated alongside a member of his legal team. After confirming his identity, he was asked to respond to the allegations.
Gadd described himself as “absolutely not guilty” to two of the charges before entering not guilty pleas to the other six. The case follows a report made to the Metropolitan Police in January 2025. Detectives subsequently launched an investigation and interviewed Gadd in July that year.

The Metropolitan Police has said the alleged victim is receiving support from specialist officers and was informed when Gadd was charged. Judge Tony Baumgartner adjourned proceedings and set a three-week trial, which is due to begin at Southwark Crown Court on 22 November 2027.
Gadd has denied every allegation against him. The charges are allegations only and have not been proved in court.
