Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man who had been stabbed.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and police enquiries remain ongoing.

The number of deaths for the same period was lower.  On New Year’s Eve 2024, 16-year-old Harry Pitman was fatally stabbed in Primrose Hill shortly before midnight.

In one of the deadliest New Year periods on record, four young men were killed in unrelated stabbings across London between New Year’s Eve and the early hours of New Year’s Day.

While the number of fatalities for this specific 48-hour period remained at one (matching last year), broader 2025 data reflects shifting crime patterns.

Overall homicides in London for the first nine months of 2025 (70 total) were at their lowest level since 2003, a 16% reduction from the same period in 2024.

Despite lower homicide rates, police-recorded knife offences in London rose by 9% in the year ending March 2025 (16,344 vs. 15,016), largely driven by increased reporting of possession and robberies.
Conversely, “violence with injury” offences fell by 18% in the same reporting period, suggesting that while more knives are being carried or used for threats/robberies, the rate of physical harm is decreasing.
