Sir Michael Gambon, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter film series, has peacefully passed away at the age of 82, according to his family.

The actor’s family shared the sad news in a statement via publicist Clair Dobbs.

Gambon, a distinguished member of the acting community, was one of the original members of the Royal National Theatre, sharing the stage with the legendary Laurence Olivier.
