A 15-year-old girl lost her life after being repeatedly stabbed in a shocking act of violence.
The assailan-, a 17-year-old boy- was swiftly arrested, and it is understood that he was known to the victim.

The incident occurred outside a bus, while the girl was on her way to an independent girls’ school, following a dispute over a bag, during which the attacker produced a knife from his pocket.
A bus driver and a passerby courageously attempted to save the young girl’s life, while others chased after the attacker.
Victor Asare, a security worker and witness to the horrific event, recounted the traumatic moment. “The boy wore a black blazer, the girl wore green.

It looked like the girl didn’t want the boy to come closer,” he said. “The blood was coming like water.” Asare further described the knife used in the attack as “black, thin, and about a foot long.” The assailant fled the scene, leaving behind a distressed and shocked crowd. “Everybody was crying and screaming,” Asare added. “The girl was on the floor.
We tried to catch him, and a lot of people tried to save the girl. I was so shocked; I was shaken. It’s somebody’s daughter.”
Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain expressed his grief during a news conference held at the scene. He said, “This is every parent’s worst nightmare.
I know the officers who responded this morning, along with our emergency service colleagues, are devastated at the victim’s death. This is an emotion I share, and I know people across Croydon will be feeling the same.”
The crime scene was cordoned off by the authorities, with a white forensic tent set up alongside a stationary number 60 bus. Social media posts depicted a significant police and ambulance presence surrounding the bus.
According to Met Police data, between August 2022 and 2023, Croydon had more stabbings than any other borough in London, with 211 “knife crime with injury” offences recorded.
