Double jabbed Piers Morgan is still battling with Covid 19 and has no smell a month after he caught the virus at the chaotic Euro 2020 final.
The outspoken television presenter who was relentless in his questioning of the government at the beginning of the pandemic says he has lost a fair bit of weight since contracting Covid-19. Morgan highlighted the most annoying aspect of his experience as being his inability to smell fine wine, but his post which invited any of his followers to comment revealed others with similar experiences, and one who was hospitalized despite being double jabbed.
He described ‘waves of fatigue and a persistent cough that apparently could go on for quite a while’, adding that ‘by far the most annoying side effect is my current ongoing inability to taste or smell fine wine”
The latest article from the former television presenter in his Daily Mail Column over the weekend featured a diary type update dated August 2, stating his smell had still not returned. The fact the diary entry was not modified by the time of its publication suggests that even a month later, his smell has not been restored.
.The update is nothing new or odd, as according to the Uk government advice, it can take anything up to 3 months for people to recover fully from Covid, but many people recover after about about two or three weeks.
In a post to his nearly 8 million followers , Piers Morgan said: “Day 18 since Covid symptoms started and still have shocking fatigue & little taste/smell.”
“Anyone else who got virus after being fully vaccinated having same ‘journey’?”(sic)
And some of those were quick to reply with one revealing: “Was double vaxxed with AZ and have spent the past 14 days in hospital on oxygen… no joke this thing!”(sic)
“Yes me! I’m on day 17 still no smell and little taste. Get very tired too after doing very little. Am double jabbed and very shocked at how it has affected me, god knows how ill I’d have been without the vaccine,”(sic) another added.
Being in hospital for 14 days after being double jabbed is no good advert for the vaccine, but scientists have already emphasized that the double jab doesn’t guarantee full protection from catching the virus or being hospitalised, but significantly reduces the chances.
The lack of full guarantee has made many wonder why such a fuss has bene made of the need to be double vaccinated if people can still catch the virus or be hospitalized, the real question being what makes those who fall seriously ill or who are hospitalized still suffer the experience.
More research is necessary for detailed answers to those questions.
One thing that hasn’t changed is that Piers Morgan hasn’t lost the energy to post comments on social media, write articles, or dish out criticism.
